We are a restoration company owned and run by Sergiy Makoviy, an IICRC-certified technician who came up through extraction crews before building a company of his own. Nothing Gets Called Dry Until The Meter Says So.

In 2001, Sergiy Makoviy kept walking into the same situation. Another company had already been out. The homeowner had paid. The job was marked complete. And moisture was still sitting behind the baseboards, inside the wall cavity, quietly starting something worse.

The job that ended his patience involved a young family in Riverside County, California. Their nursery had flooded, been “dried,” and signed off. Weeks later, mold was spreading behind the drywall. Sergiy took the moisture readings the previous crew never bothered to take, documented what he found, got the insurance claim reopened, and dried the home properly.

He founded Mr. Damage Rescue a few weeks after that job, built on a single rule he still enforces personally: nothing gets called dry until the meter says it is dry.
